Jacob the gardener

Here he is throwing some gang signs while contemplating which plants to take care of.
Hey mom. I think this one looks good!

I love succulents. I think this one has survived from Tim and Anna's wedding. It must be 3 or 4 years old. (They gave them out as favors)

Jakey in the garden

Here he is with dad and his constant daycare runny nose.
His new favorite activity is to be in the backyard, and one of his new words is 'ower. (flower)

He is really busy with his gardening activities and can't be bothered right now.

better than TV

We actually don't let J. watch too much TV, but he's found something that is better than TV anyway! It's the front window. I was home sick yesterday and he was a little bored because I wasn't able to walk around and play with him, so he watched the lawnmower family come and do the neighbor's lawn and he told me about all of the cars driving on our street and he could also see Mugsy our cat roaming around.

Refuge House fabric

We made a trip to M & L on Saturday (our favorite discount fabric store) and we scored big time. It was so much fun to shop for fabric, and G. had $50 given to her just for RH fabric, so it was even more fun. I spent $50 on my own fabrics, but I still had fun. Now I know why I usually shop at estate sales for my fabrics. Even though this was a discount store, I still spent more on less fabric than at estate sales. Of course, you don't get to choose what your fabric will look like at estate sales, but who can beat the prices.

Spiderweb quilt blocks

Here are the first four blocks made for my spiderweb quilt from this tutorial. It has been pretty fun trying my hand at piecing and using a template. As you can see, some of my blocks don't quite match up. I'm still beginning, but overall, it's not too bad, and it's fun using up scraps of my vintage fabrics and leftovers from RH quilts.
