Our yummy barbecue on the last night of our stay at Uncle Tak and Auntie Yuki's.
The view from their balcony. You can actually see both shores of the island from the balcony, but not in this shot.
This is Mrs. Kashiwa (Yuki's mom) she and Jacob had fun together. She makes wonderful fried rice. We might make that a tradition in our house too.

Maui Forever
The lone photographer is searching for the best views as he treks through the wilds of the Maui Botanical Garden.
Lavender farms in Maui????
I love the driftwood fences.

From Oahu to Maui
We got to see some of the Turtles at Waimea Bay. Too bad we didn't have more time, but we had to get back to meet my aunt for dinner. It was still awesome. For some reason, Jakey kept calling turtles flowers.
Our view from the plane. Goodbye Honolulu.
J. did great on the trip. We brought his little bed and blanket and he adjusted very well to the time change. He is also getting back to normal now that we're back. He's already waking up at 8 and going to bed at 8. We might just keep it that way for the summer.
Here's the view from the condo we got at Kihei in Maui. It was a beautiful beach with fine, powdery sand and a great view. Jacob had so much fun in that pool.

Hawaii 09
We really did go...There are no beaches like this in California. This is the elbow of Oahu. Hanauma. Super crowded, but we had to go.

5 year old b-day present
I tried to do a take on the pencil roll project and make a sort of pencil / travel case. The fabric was M & L cowboy fabric mixed with fabric from my stash.
Note to self--next time allow more room for the pencils. I had to rip out a few seams and it puckered a little after putting the pencils inside.
Repurposing a card to use as the cover for my recycled paper journal worked well. I will have to try more of those. I like how that one came out.
