Our old dining room chairs bought on Ebay when we first moved into the house (4 years ago). They are really cool Italian chairs from Italy--don't ask me how they made it to the US. However, the padding on the seats makes some of our guests have to sit too high off the ground, and they really don't go with that table (see below)
This tiger oak round dining room table was left here very generously by the previous owner of the house --along with many other fine pieces of furniture much of which we craigslisted in order to pay our bills in those early years of owning a house. This table is very solid and looks like it should be able to extend, but didn't come with any leaves to extend it... so we always knew we would have to replace it.
Then, one day we went to our favorite antique and used furniture store A to Z down the street and saw this table and chair set. When I saw the price for the table, I thought that it wasn't bad, but wouldn't you know--the chairs were not included in that "reasonable" price. However, we worked out a trade with them--our pieces for this set plus we paid the difference.
I knew that I liked the look of the table at the store, but you can't imagine how great it looks in our dining room. I actually feel like we have a dining room. It has never felt that way before in nearly 5 years of living in this house. It makes a HUGE difference. The greatest thing about this table is that it extends. There are hidden leaves under the table that pull out, so it can potentially seat up to 10 people. Ok, enough about the table. Obviously I'm a little overexcited about it.
