Curious Jakey

He looks like such a big boy with his new haircut. This is his last week of being 1. I think he's ready to turn 2. He has been growing up so much this summer. He learns about 3 new words every day and copies what we say pretty well too. He loves any kind of ball and knows how to say basketball and soccer ball. He also loves trucks and cars. He likes eating fruit, especially all of the berries that have been ripe this summer. He also started eating pasta again, for which I am grateful. His favorite kind of meat is still chicken, although he really liked the pulled beef that Nate had at the Cuban restaurant in Hawaii. We also discovered that Jacob really loves black beans in Hawaii. He has also discovered juice and Sesame Street. He can name some of his favorite characters--Elmo, Ernie and Big Bird. This summer we have been going to the park a lot. We go to a few parks within walking distance, and before we can even see the park he starts saying, "Hi whee" which is his word for park because whee is what you say when you ride the swings and go down the slide at the park of course. He's becoming really good friends with Meow (Mugsy) and lays down on him whenever he gets the chance. He can climb into his eating chair by himself (it's attached to our kitchen table). He sleeps 12 hours a night like clockwork and usually doesn't even cry anymore when we put him to bed. He also still goes down really well for a 3 hour nap every afternoon. I just tell him night night time and he usually goes to his room. He has been more affectionate with us this summer and likes to give mommy and daddy hugs as much as he can.
This is one of his favorite spots to hang out. He could stay here for hours watching the boys and girls and cars and trucks go by. Sometimes he yells out to the neighbors, or people visiting our house from these windows.

Angela,
I like your blog. It is a refreshing way to get insight into the days' goings-on of the CA Warners.

I must admit, it is tough tho, seeing you all, especially Jacob, and not being there.....but your blog fills in some of the gap!

Love, Dad/Reid
